Spyderco – the thumb hole company – has been around since the 70’s, and while they were originally known for their impressive and widely-loved Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, the Colorado-based company now produces a wide range of unique and dependable knives that you’ll love to carry every day. Since their first folding knife, the C01 Worker, in 1981, Spyderco has defined innovation in the knife industry, paving the way for new concepts with many of their models over the years. From using high-grade (and often hard to find on the mainstream market) materials, Spyderco is beloved by many. Many of their models have an odd design at first sight, but their differences are what make them such a powerful and reliable daily carry. The Stretch 2 – one of Spyderco’s longest spanning and most adored knife lines – has received an update, as the US-based company now offers the brand new Stretch 2 XL Lightweight. Increased in overall size by 8%, the Stretch 2 XL is big enough to tackle even the toughest of cutting tasks, and makes for a solid self-defense tool. While it has grown in size since it’s predecessor, the new XL models are linerless, with FRN handles, making these things incredibly lightweight for their size. Less than 3 oz., and nearly 9” total, the Stretch 2 XL Lightweight has one of those weight-size ratios that you only come across every now and again. These proportions make this new 2022 model by Spyderco an ultra-reliable everyday carry, especially considering its low price point. The FRN scales on these knives have a Bi-Directional Textured pattern, allowing for supreme grip, and a 4-position reversible & ambidextrous pocket clip for easy carry. The strong lockback mechanism and ambidextrous round thumb hole opener give the Stretch 2 XL Lightweight the dependability you look for in a daily carry knife.
