The Microtech Scarab II is the perfect blend of each unique Microtech style in one appreciable OTF. This is a double-action knife, meaning it fires both out and in via the thumb slide located on the side of the handle. The action, lock-up, and quality on the Scarab II is top-notch Microtech and cannot fail. This model is great for a tactical, everyday carry. The Microtech Scarab II is a bit bigger and heavier than it's predecessor and therefore packs a much bigger punch! The Scarab II is a much needed improvement, but for those who have the original that could be only a matter of opinion.
