The Benchmade OTF Shootout, newly designed and produced in 2022, has proven itself as a reliable tool with a lightweight and thin profile and tons of capabilities. With a CF-Elite handle chassis, these guys are just about as lightweight as an out the front can get, weighing in at less than 3 oz. Considering it's full-size, with a 3.51" blade, the proportions on this guy are super impressive, and the smooth and low-rate-misfire double-action mechanism gives you all the dependability you could ever need. Unlike many spine-side-slide OTFs, the Shootout is easy to function, having a switch that is unlikely to dig a hole in your thumb, while still having enough retention to keep it from going off when you don't want it to. 

During use is when the Shootout really shines. The handle scales are contoured and have differing textures all over so you always have a great grip and can really get behind your blade for extra leverage. Jimping on the inside part of the spine put your index and pinky fingers comfortably at rest. With a reversible mini deep-carry pocket clip and a glass breaker, the Shootout makes for an incredible EDC as well as an emergency tool. 

One of Benchmades new colorways for the Shootout, newly released in June 2023, this guy comes with an awesome white CF-Elite handle. The pocket clip and screws are finished black, while the CRUWEAR tanto blade surprises you with a flat earth coating that matches the pommel/lanyard hole and thumb slide.
