Spyderco, originally founded in the late 70’ selling their well-known Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, has since blossomed into one of the most well-known knife manufacturers and brands. Their first folding knife, the C01 Worker, which began production in 1981, paved the way for many new design concepts when it comes to folding pocket knives. Featuring the beloved round hole in the blade for easy flicking, and being the first folding knife with a pocket clip, Spyderco’s first production knife was surely impressive for the early 80’s. Now, they boast a huge line of cutlery ranging from tiny slip joints to chef’s knives to large compression lock folders. Additionally, the brand offers a huge range of both handle material and color, while also having multiple steels available for multiple knives. Spyderco, which manufactures in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China is sure to have a knife that fits anybody’s style and needs.

The Spyderco Stovepipe is a new cleaver-style pocket knife inspired by David Rydbom’s “Bill the Butcher” design. The knife comes with a strong CPM-20CV blade in a cleaver shape and a handle made out of two slabs of titanium, of course held together by a titanium backspacer. The color on these Stovepipe’s are an incredible dark gray stonewash that gives it an industrial feel. You can tell that these knives took some series work to put together, as they feature the Reeve Integral lock mechanism, machined handle scales, and an oversized pivot pin with machined “artistic accents”. Also coming with a right-side, tip-up titanium pocket clip, the Stovepipe makes for a great everyday carry. Pick one of these big guys up while you still have the chance.
