The Microtech Dirac is perfect for the fan of the OTF who prefers the thumb slide to be on the face. The swap makes the switch a bit more accessible and easy to function. If you’re an everyday Ultratech carrier, the Dirac is certainly something to get used to, but it is certainly worth it. This may be opinionated, but these guys are the perfect size for an everyday carry. Incredibly lightweight due to its 6061-T6 aluminum chassis, you’ll forget you’re carrying the Dirac until you need it, then it’s only the blink of an eye away from being ready.

The handle of these models have been given more of an ergonomic shape than the Microtech Ultratech line knives, giving your fingers more places to rest, and giving the knife a bit more style in design. Six-point jimping on the spine-sides of the handle give you more leverage during use, and the powerful high-tolerance mechanism gives you an OTF knife that’s ready for anything. To add to this knives EDC-checklist, the Dirac comes with a tip-down pocket clip and a ball-tip glass breaker for emergencies.

The Microtech Dirac was already a great choice as an everyday carry/user OTF knife; add on a distressed 6061-T6 aluminum handle chassis, and you have an incredibly well-made pocket knife ready for consistent use out of the box. Paired with an apocalyptic double edge dagger blade and tip-down pocket clip, you can’t get much more user friendly. The handle on this model Dirac, distressed as mentioned before, is also anodized with Microtech’s signature olive drab/OD green. These distressed Diracs that Microtech is putting out are simply awesome.
