More than 25 years since Sal Glesser designed the original Military, a tool that took the knife world by storm, Spyderco has now released the highly-anticipated Military 2. Now coming with the signature compression lock and a full-flat ground CPM S30V blade, this guy is an uber-reliable piece of art with a large 4" blade and contouring in all the right places. Enlarged skeletonized stainless steel liners make the Military 2 incredibly strong and durable, while peel-ply G-10 handle scales give functionality and grip. An open-backed design allows for a cut on the weight and easy clean up after a hard day's work.

You may be inclined to think that due to its size, these guys don't operate as smoothly as the beloved PM2 and Para 3's. You would be wrong. This model, C36MPCW2, has a satin finished CRU-WEAR blade and brown canvas micarta handle scales. Although these are not limited editions, these all feature skeletonized full stainless steel liners, slim brown canvas Micarta scales, and  CPM CRU-WEAR tool steel blades that offer an outstanding balance of edge retention and toughness. The scales of all these knives are sanded smooth but left unpolished, so they will naturally patina with age and handling to develop their own unique character. A four-position pocket clip make is a solid everyday carry choice for anybody in the market for a large blade.
