The Medford M-48 is a little bit different than the US-based knife manufacturers forte. Super thin, basic, and lightweight, the M-48 flipper is for those who enjoy the high-quality products that come out of Medford, but already own, or don’t want to opt for one of their beefier models that they are mostly known for. The M-48 is a frame lock folder with a perfectly-sized flipper tab for extremely easy opening action. Typically coming with an aluminum face-side scale and titanium on the clip-side, the frame lock mechanism comes extremely tight and reliable so that the knife is always ready for cutting-use and for fidgeting alike. We’re big fans of a good flipper tab over here at SRKT, and Medford has done a phenomenal job of incorporating a smooth flip action into their M-48 models. The tip-up pocket clips that come with these knives are reversible and designed for deep-carry. The M-48 is an overall great knife, with great open-and-shut action on bearings and featuring only the highest of quality materials.

This Medford Knife & Tool M-48 comes with a Tumbled blade made of CPM S45VN stainless steel, known as a fairly hard steel with excellent corrosion resistance. The blade features Medford’s “Magnus Edged” tip grind. The face-side handle scale on this model is an Off-Blue, with some patterned lasering as well as the “M-48” lasered in. The clip-side of the frame is made of titanium and is tumbled, which matches the blade. This knife’s tip-up reversible deep-carry pocket clip is flamed as well as the pivot and all screws on this M-48, giving this knife an extra bit of flair.
